KAMUI Group is carrying out alteration and addition works for an industrial building. Before that, we must repair the damaged parts of the building.
Spalling concrete is one of the common damage for buildings due to component aging, improper use and normal wear and tear. According to our observation, there are a lot of spalling concrete areas in this building. One of the main reason is continuous water seepage (the roof waterproofing system is in disrepair for a long time, the water leakage from the windows already aging, etc.), which makes the steel bars rust and expand cracking the surrounding concrete, thus loosening and spalling.
To further ensure that all spalling concrete situations will be dealt with, we hired professional technicians to conduct a Hammer Tapping Inspection to find out all problematic areas and clearly mark them on site before repairing them. This survey will be the first major milestone in the alteration and additions works.
